Adornments Retreat 2018

It’s official, I have my own blog & my own website!! Something I NEVER thought I would do!!! I can’t wait to see what else 2018 has in store for me!!

I recently had the privilege of attending the Adornments Retreat in Galena, Illinois (my first ever attended). It was 3 jam-packed days of new friendships, laughter, information, inspiration and new techniques. I had the privilege of working with some of the most amazing, patient, kind and fun instructors, Heather Powers, Erin Prais-Hintz, Jess Lincoln & Brenda Schweder, all of which have become such inspirations to me!

I never dreamed I would learn so many new techniques and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my jewelry making style.  Some of which include metal patina techniques creating layers of color and iridescent finishes, metal manipulating & forming of my own beads & bails from filigree pieces, riveting and layering of metals into their own unique pieces, mold making and techniques that may make polymer clay one of my new friends in future designing. I know it sure is my sons!!! He loves all my new tools and can’t put them down or stop making his own unique molds for the bookmarks he sells at a few boutiques. You never know, we just might have a mother and son duo in the works!
